I am Malini, founder of Taste of Mauritius Catering, a Tamilian of South-Indian decent and the 4th generation raised on the Island of Mauritius! Even after settling in Nova Scotia for over 25 years now, far from the tropical island I still call “home", I continue to stay very much connected to my roots. Truth be known, I actually come from a long line of outstanding cooks, and cooking has always been a true passion of mine. Growing up watching, helping and cooking meals with all family members who took pride in our heritage and preparing traditional Mauritian Indian food had a great impact on me as a child. It is that very exposure on the Island that has always made me appreciate the value of my culture and cuisine, all of which continues to keep me strongly connected to my roots.
